On the other hand, Horizon 1-2-3 has been amazing, and honestly, at tihs point, I'd rather playing a Horizon game over a Motorsport or GT game. In a way, it reminds me of GT5, though, on a smaller scale. It's really just 7 that I have a bone to pick with - I do like the focus on the dynamic stuff (it's long overdue) but the game does feel less polished than any Forza ever released. The physics are much closer to simulation now, and that's because of FM5.įorza 6 was basically FM5, but with shit tons of content and weather and night racing finally added. I'd say that Forza 4 was easily better than both GT 5 and 6.įorza 5 was a fantastic launch title for the xbone, and a decent soft-reboot of the series. Car-wise, it's getting there, but the tracks? And where has weather and dynamic ToD gone? Why cut out economy and upgrading? Is the FIA licence which may affect, like, 5 people in the entire world really worth not being able to save your game offline? GT Sport is the reboot the series desperately needed, but it seriously lacks content. It was a good GT, but it felt extremely dated.
In GT5 you could actually deform, warp the bodies of most cars (even damage wasn't consistent across all of them!) but in GT6 they just reverted to the scrapes & scratches style of damage. GT6 was like GT5, but more polished, although it did in fact come with some downgrades: graphically worse than GT5 in many places, and they massively simplified the damage. The AI that felt like was also lifted from the PS2 games. The insane amount of Skyline's, Lancers and other japanese cars that had basically zero variation in them aside from a few stats. The outrageous amount of standard cars which were just lifted from the PS2/PSP GT's. The constant loading screens, coupled with the constant installation (because apparently a one time install wasn't enough). The weird thing where visual damage only occurs when you're high level enough. Playing the launch version of that game was one of the biggest letdowns I ever experienced. More isn't always better, but honestly, GT has been struggling since 4.ĥ was a complete clusterfuck at launch.
